Catharine Hansford is a marketing communications professional with more than 20 years of experience, working most recently with the Michigan State University Land Policy Institute. She has been at the forefront of informing the public about how to hasten Michigan’s recovery. She believes that Michigan can lead the nation again in the new economy, in such areas as alternative energy, urban revitalization, and viable agriculture. Hansford is an award-winning writer and has been published in national and international magazines, including authoring an entire issue of Michigan Natural Resources Magazine, featuring Michigan’s Conservation Story: the Early Years. She was raised near Traverse City, Michigan, and is a graduate of Michigan State University, with dual degrees from the Colleges of Business and Education.
